AABOR Fall 2024 Meeting Slide Show
September 13, 2024
Despite hurricane and flood warnings there was record turnout for the 2024 AABOR Fall Conference at Orange Beach. The conference kicked off with the annual Dutch Treat Dinner hosted by State Auditor Andrew Sorrell, which was held this year at Coastal.
Distinguished guest speakers at the Friday session were State Auditor Andrew Sorrell, Agriculture Commissioner Rick Pate, District 95/Baldwin County State House Representative Frances Holk-Jones, and Keynote Speaker Attorney General Steve Marshall. All the speakers recognized the importance of the Registrar mission and expressed their strong appreciation and support. Attorney General Marshall aptly described the November 2024 election season as the Registrar "Super Bowl." He stated Registrars are the "...ultimate gatekeepers in our elections system, and without your work, we would not be able to conduct fair elections...and the voice of millions of Alabamians would go unheard."
Training focusing on election issues was led by Director of Elections Jeff Elrod and AABOR Vice President and Chairman of the Education Committee Leigh Reed.
